Panorama of Sudanese Identity (The Jews: Permanence of Essence and Dynamics of Action – Colonization and Fooling) Captain Mohammed Hassan Al-Tahir

Philosophers say that the nature of (man) is always one and they in the same circumstances will do the same things, while some classify human natures according to the series of natural minerals starting from gold to iron, we find that Al-Jahiz in the book Al-Hayawan acknowledges that their natures resemble the natures of animals, from them man learned since the two sons of Adam..
And perhaps that is what George Orwell confirmed in his book Animal Farm in which he classified pigs as characterized by selfishness and contradicting narratives..
These narratives make every analyst or ordinary reader wonder about the common human denominator and here I recall the book of Naji Alloush (the Palestinian Marxist thinker) Marxism and the Jewish Question
Where the book dealt with the relationship between _Judaism and Marxism_
And its central idea is based on decisive separation between several levels, and he responds in it to two prevailing theses:
– A Zionist thesis saying Marxism is hostile to Jews because its founder is Jewish,
– And a right-wing Arab thesis saying Marxism is a Jewish conspiracy.
Alloush says
– Judaism is a heavenly religion like Christianity and Islam, thousands of years old, has sects and different interpretations.
– And Zionism in his view is a colonial political movement that appeared in late 19th century in Europe, used the Jewish religion as an ideological cover to justify settlement in Palestine.
And his proof is that the early leaders of Zionism were completely secular and atheist like Herzl and Nordau and Ben-Gurion, and have no relation to religiosity.
As for the relationship of Marx and the Jewish Question_
Alloush relies on Marx’s early book “On the Jewish Question” 1844.
Marx was of Jewish origin but he was an atheist, and his critique of Judaism is not as a religion, but a critique of the position of Jews in European capitalist society.
Alloush explains Marx’s idea that the political emancipation of the state (giving Jews citizenship rights) is not enough, for he sees:
– That true emancipation is social and economic emancipation from capitalist exploitation, whether for Jew or Christian.
That Marx’s famous saying “The emancipation of Jews in its final meaning is the emancipation of humanity from Judaism” does not mean religion, but means “the Jewish spirit” in the sense of the spirit of trade and money and benefit that the capitalist system generalized to the whole society. And it is an idea he also applied to Christianity.
Why do some say Marxism is Jewish?_
Alloush responds to the conspiracy theory that says “Communism is an organization with Jewish leadership to destroy nations” –
And it is widespread in literature such as the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
He says: It is true that a number of founders of socialist movements in Europe were of Jewish origins (Marx, Trotsky, Rosa Luxemburg)
But the reason is social not religious:
Jews in Europe were a persecuted minority and forbidden from owning land, so they turned to free professions and critical thought
– Their persecution made them more inclined to revolutionary ideas opposed to discrimination
But Marxism as a methodology is opposite to Jewish racism that is based on a chosen people, because it is based on internationalism:
– Workers of the world unite.
As for the position on Israel_
For Alloush, he says that true Marxism cannot be Zionist because:
– Marxism is against colonialism and settlement while
– Zionism is a colonial project serving capitalism and imperialism
Therefore the establishment of first communist party in Palestine in 1919 by Russian Jews – was in reality a Zionist party, and did not represent interests of Arab and Jewish workers together.
From here we can summarize Naji Alloush’s ideas in the following:
– Judaism is a religion, and Marxism is a material methodology to analyze history, and there is no religious contradiction between them but a methodological contradiction.
– Zionism exploited Judaism, and did not represent it.
– Attempt to link Marxism with Judaism as a “world Jewish conspiracy” is a simplification serving Zionism itself, because it hides the class and colonial nature of the Zionist project and turns conflict from a colonial political conflict into a religious conflict.
From here I would like to say whatever the relationship between Judaism and Marxism, its results have been embodied in settlement projects and deprivation of people of the land from homelands and dispersal of lovers wherever Saba’s hands go and the جامع identity that achieves unity of peoples and their right to land was lost..
Today and we are optimistic about Sudanese dialogue to solve Sudan’s crisis (Baragish brought it on herself and the most free of them from worry is the most free of them from astuteness) we all have concern in preserving Sudan’s identity through dynamics of action and permanence of essence
I would like to point to some important points initiating the following question
– What is identity?
– Is identity a card we carry, or a spirit that carries us?
Identity is not a paper but it is dynamics of ideas inside man that makes him know that he belongs to it, it is what tells him who you are when people forget who he is (you don’t know your friend from your enemy) in reality or in ideal
Idealism says:
– That identity is an idea in heaven, does not change, sacred, whoever touches it burns.
While realism considers
– Identity is dust on earth, changes every day, nothing fixed, it is shifting sands searching for an essence to preserve it
And we here confirm that both theses are incomplete…
That identity is _dynamics of action and permanence of essence_.
Action moves and essence remains
What does this mean?
It means that I am Sudanese, I change every day, I learn, I travel,
– I wear pants instead of jallabiya,
– I speak English instead of Arabic,
– I eat pizza instead of kisra,
This is action, and action moves, and must move.
But essence of action does not change. There is something inside me that does not change like civility, chivalry, gallantry,
The jallabiya is not identity, the kisra is not identity, the dialect is not identity.
These are actions, dynamics, changeable.
That identity is the essence that makes jallabiya jallabiya
As wise men say gold is gold, even if they shape it as ring or chain or earring.
Form moves, and essence remains.
That our problem is duality of Sudanese identity between idealism and realism
An idealistic team says:
– Sudanese identity is purely Arab
And another says that identity is purely African
And a realistic team says:
– There is no identity, we are just a bit of confusion, each person
Makes the identity he sees.
The first wants to freeze action to preserve essence, so kills both.
The second wants to release action to dissolve essence, so loses both.
Wisdom is astuteness that stands in middle (Sudanese and stay Sudanese)
Sudanese identity is not Arab nor African, it is _Sudanese*. Sudanese means bridge. Means we are
– Arabs when we need eloquence,
– And Africans when we need rhythm,
– And Muslims when we need civility,
– And Christians when we need love.
Our Sudanese-ness is dynamics:
We embrace all cultures, and do not leave ourselves.
Conclusion:
What happens in world today of marginalization of man and loss of nature due to tyranny of capital and dominance of technology devoid of piety which will return us to law of jungle, this reality makes wisdom staying on essence of man represented in permanence of his identity with dynamics of his action to avoid rigidity and also liquid identities that know no values nor morals and which are governed by whims and moved by purposes (each person is entertained by his purpose) from here people of Sudan must have permanence of essence with dynamics of action:
– That we learn, that we change, that we keep pace and preserve our entity from disappearance and Sudan from humiliation
