National Security: From the Prophet’s Mercy to Hollywood’s Police* _(The Serenity of the Message and the Clamor of the Script)_ *Captain Mohamed Hassan Al-Taher

*Date: December 20, 2025*

Today’s world is awash with challenges and upheavals, making security the cornerstone upon which:

– Societies are built,

– Civilizations are founded,

– And human dignity is preserved.

Security is not merely the absence of fear; rather, it is:

– A state of tranquility and stability that encompasses both the individual and society,

– A reflection of a state’s ability to protect its entity and vital interests from internal and external threats.

*🔐 What Is Security?*

Security is the feeling of peace and reassurance. It is a state of psychological, social, and political stability that allows individuals to live, work, and create without fear or threat.

It encompasses the protection of lives and property, the safeguarding of rights and freedoms, and the provision of a safe environment that fosters development and prosperity.

*🛡️ What Is National Security?*

National security is the state’s ability to protect its political structure, national unity, territorial integrity, and vital interests from any internal or external threat.

It spans multiple dimensions: military, economic, political, social, cultural, and even environmental.

It is not merely about guarding borders, but about safeguarding identity, way of life, and the future.

*🌿 Security in the Light of the Prophet’s Biography ﷺ*

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ embodied the highest meanings of security in his message and life. He was sent as a “mercy to the worlds,” bringing a message that:

– Called for peace,

– Forbade injustice,

– And laid the foundation for a cohesive society built on justice and compassion.

He ﷺ was deeply concerned with the safety of all people—Muslims and non-Muslims alike. He said:

*“A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand other Muslims are safe,”*

emphasizing that security begins with the individual—through their behavior and ethics—before it becomes the responsibility of the state.

The Prophet ﷺ also established the “Constitution of Medina,” the first civil charter in history, which regulated relations among the diverse components of the city’s society—Muslims, Jews, and polytheists—on the basis of:

– Peaceful coexistence,

– Mutual solidarity, and

– Collective defense.

This stands as an early and profound model of comprehensive national security.

*🎬 A Cinematic Reflection: National Security*

The film _National Security_ offers a satirical and thrilling take on the concept of security in American society, through the story of two mismatched police officers forced to work together to protect public safety.

Despite its comedic tone, the film sheds light on critical issues such as:

– Racial discrimination,

– Corruption within law enforcement,

– And the importance of cooperation among individuals despite their differences to achieve a common goal.

The film highlights that national security is not achieved solely through force or weaponry, but rather through:

– Trust, institutional integration,

– And justice.

It also reveals that threats to security can arise from within just as much as from outside, and that complacency in confronting corruption or racism undermines the very foundations of stability.

*🧭 Conclusion*

National security is not a slogan to be raised, but:

– A daily practice that begins with the individual and culminates in the state.

– A collective responsibility that demands awareness, cooperation, and justice.

The Prophet ﷺ provided us with an enduring model for building a secure society.

Modern cinema reminds us that security is only realized when we face challenges with courage, elevate human dignity, and protect the homeland from every threat—following in the footsteps of the noble Prophet, a mercy to the worlds, under wise and just governance.
