In the Mail of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health* *Economy and the Rule of Nine as a Model of Social Justice* Captain Mohamed Hassan Al-Taher e:

In a world where sciences intertwine and destinies intersect, the Rule of Nine in medicine emerges as a precise diagnostic tool, while social economics shines as a beacon for understanding human challenges during times of crisis.

Between medicine and economics, life weaves its delicate threads, and the big questions arise:

– How do we ensure a dignified life?

– And how do we heal both the economy and the human body?

*🩺 The Rule of Nine:*

This is a medical principle used to estimate the percentage of body surface area affected by burns. It is a vital tool for assessing the severity of injury and determining appropriate treatment. The body is divided into regions that represent approximately 9% or its multiples of total skin surface:

– Head and neck: 9%

– Each arm: 9%

– Each leg: 18%

– Anterior trunk: 18%

– Posterior trunk: 18%

– Genital area: 1%

This rule goes beyond medical calculations—it carries deeper implications when viewed through economic and social lenses.

*💰 A Different Kind of Anatomy:*

Medicine and economics are not separate worlds, but two sides of the coin of life.

– Every medical decision has economic consequences.

– Every health crisis casts shadows over productivity, public spending, and the labor market.

In cases of burns, for example, costs extend beyond treatment to include:

– Emergency care and reconstructive surgeries

– Psychological and physical rehabilitation

– Loss of work capacity

– Health insurance and compensation

Here, economics becomes a decisive factor in determining the quality of care, speed of response, and chances of recovery.

*🔥 Social Economics and the Burned Body:*

Social economics studies how economic conditions affect individuals and communities, especially during crises. In the event of fires, this science manifests in painful realities:

– The poor are more likely to live in unsafe housing, increasing fire risk

– Marginalized communities often lack early warning systems or effective firefighting services

– Treatment costs may be unbearable, leading to neglected injuries or unsafe alternatives

Thus, the burned human body becomes a mirror reflecting the fragility of the economic system and the urgent need for fair and comprehensive interventions.

*🌱 A Dignified Life and a Healthy Economy:*

The path to a healthy economy is not paved solely with financial indicators, but with the assurance of human safety and dignity. This requires:

– Investment in health and preventive infrastructure

– Supporting vulnerable communities with effective social protection systems

– Integrating medicine and economics into cohesive policies that place the human being at the center

– Promoting awareness and training in disaster prevention, especially in high-risk areas

Ultimately, the Rule of Nine is not just a medical tool—it is a call to understand the human being as a whole: body, needs, and rights. Between medicine and economics, life pulses, policies are written, and societies are built on foundations of justice and compassion—ensuring human protection and safe living.

And fear God, that you may receive mercy.
